Job Overview

We are looking for a highly capable Mechanical Engineer to join our business's production and R&D division. You will be designing, testing and troubleshooting elastomer damper manufacturing machinery. Designing, testing, researching elastomer dampers.

To ensure success as a Mechanical Engineer, you should possess extensive knowledge of data acquisition systems, programming and control systems, CAD Systems and GD&T. Verbal and written communication skills should be superb.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from ABET accredited university.
At least 5 years experience in mechanical or electrical engineering. Internships can be
counted at 50% time.
Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and material science and other mechanical engineering concepts.
Working knowledge of control systems and programmable logic such as Allen Bradley or Velacio.net.
Working Knowledge of data acquisition systems such as HBM.
Working knowledge of transducers, their calibration and operation such as load cells, displacement transducers, IR and TC Temperature sensors.
Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software such as Autodesk Fusion 360 or Dassault SolidWorks.
Experience with Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Ability to work under pressure.
Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Great interpersonal skills.
Great communication and collaboration skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Superior working knowledge of computers and office software.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of production processes in a related industry is preferred although not required.

Primary responsibilities:

Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures for systems and machinery as the need arises.
